FLEET-FOOTED YOUNG GUITARIST LEADS EXCITING BAND AT MILESTONES JAZZ CLUB
This month’s concert at Milestones Jazz Club on Sunday 3 February features a guitar led band of young musicians equally at home playing hard swinging jazz standards or spiky original material - The Ant Law Quartet.

Ant Law is a fleet-footed young guitarist and a rising star on the London jazz scene now on a UK tour to promote his debut album, 'Entanglement'.

A scholar at both Edinburgh University and the prestigious Berklee College of Music in the US, Ant moved to London in 2008 where he quickly picked up some high profile session work with a variety of mainstream artists such as Mica Paris and members of Incognito and Level 42.

While touring internationally with the hit West End show, ‘Thriller Live', Ant continued to compose original jazz and practice intensely.

But with the release of his debut album he plants his flag on home ground with great assurance, technical ability, and melodic and rhythmic flair.

He makes regular trips to New York to study with his heroes Ben Monder, Lage Lund and significantly Ari Hoenig, with their collective influences audible in his music along with legendary players like John Scofield and Bill Frisell.

Ant's fresh and vibrant music is given life by a band of outstanding talent that features the spontaneity and energy of saxophonist Michael Chillingworth and the gold standard rhythm section of double bassist Tom Farmer and drummer Peter Ibbetson.

This concert is the only East Anglian date of a national tour supported by Jazz Services.

The band’s full line-up features Ant Law (guitar), Michael Chillingworth (alto / soprano sax), Tom Farmer (double bass) and Peter Ibbetson (drums).

All Milestones gigs are held on the first Sunday of every month and take place at Hotel Hatfield, Esplanade, Lowestoft with the doors opening at 8pm.
